![]() Stirling Weather Information Past Week Sunday November, 24 to Saturday November, 30 Another week of contrasts which ended with our lowest temperature of the Autumn -6.6ºC on Saturday November, 30. That day was also a sub zero day with the temperature rising only to -0.6ºC resulting in a cold average temperature for the whole day of -4.4ºC. Compare that to the beginning of the week when on Tuesday November 26, the temperature climbed to nearly double figures: 9.5ºC and the average daily temperature was 8.6ºC. Tuesday, 26 was also our wettest day of November with nearly 15mm of rainfall in what was a dry month 96mm, around half the rainfall of the 184mm that we recorded during November 2018. Rain on Thursday is also expected to see the strongest of the wind with gusts at low level around 40mph. Temperatures are likely to reach double figures by the end of the week around 12ºC before falling close to freezing again as we approach next week. Temperature wise it was a week of two halves with a cold start giving way to mild and drizzly conditions in the second part of the week. On both Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 the average daily temperature was below freezing -2.2ºC and -2.1ºC respectively. Maximum Temperature: 9.2ºC Saturday November, 23 Lowest Temperature: -6.4ºC Tuesday November, 19 Maximum Daily Rainfall: 4.6mm Saturday November, 23 Weekly Rainfall Total: 9.4mm Maximum Wind Gust: 18.0mph Thursday November, 21 The Week Ahead Forecast: In what looks like being a reverse of last week, this week will be mild and wet until mid-week before turning colder with overnight frosts as we approach the end of the week and into the weekend. During the colder half of the week the air flow will come down from the north and it could bring with it some wintry showers during the weekend and beginning of next week. Past Week Sunday November, 10 to Saturday November, 16 It was a cold week with the average temperature only 2.3ºC. Only two nights were frost free and on Wednesday November, 13 we recorded our lowest Stirling temperature of the Autumn so far -3.2ºC. On the evening of Sunday November, 10 rural areas to the north of Stirling recorded their first moderate snowfall of the season which for a few hours affected some roads. Any brief wet weather mid-week could be wintry but with a few showers forecasted towards the end of the week and weekend it will fall as rain. Wind will increase slightly during the second part of the week. As we move into next week it looks like staying unsettled with rain at times. And 1 in 5 regularly check under the bed for lurking monsters and close cupboard and wardrobe doors before they get into bed. And with the clocks now turned back and Hallowe'en upon us, travelling to and from work in the dark will soon be a reality.
